Fast Monday | March 6

Whether you have fasted before or this is your first time, here are some tips to help you out:

✔️ Adhere to all physician assigned dietary restrictions. Please do not hurt yourself.

✔️ Ultimately the strictest form of fasting is water only.

✔️ If you wish to do this, make sure to get plenty of water and sleep.

✔️ Pray! Fasting is not just giving up food.

✔️ Fasting is for prayer, reflection, confession and meditation of the Scriptures. Get alone with God and talk to Him.

Theme for the Fast: Revival

Schedule

Preparing Our Hearts

📖 Bible Meditation: 🔗 1 Kings 18; Hosea 6:1-2

We need a move of God today more than ever in our lives, the Church, and our Nation. We need revival!  But before that can happen, we need to plant the seeds.

Take time to pray for yourself, confess sins to God, and sit quietly before the Lord. Open the Scriptures to 1 Kings 18 and Hosea 6 and begin to read through prayerfully.

Monday:

🔹 Morning Meditation: Pray Earnestly

📖 Bible Meditation: 🔗James 5:13-18; 1 Kings 17:1; 1 Kings 18:41-46

Read the passages above. Consider Elijah’s faith. He prayed fervently, literally, “prayed in his prayer”—bent over as if to birth something. He was bold in his prayer and actions. He did not let the opinions of the culture sway his convictions. He did not give up. James says that Elijah was just like us in his nature, but that God listened to him because he prayed fervently. Cry out to God sincerely for the Lord to send rain in our generation. Do not give up. God moved powerfully in the past and can do so again in our present!

Pray for sweeping revival in our lives, our churches, and across our Land. Pray that God’s Spirit will be poured out on our pastors and leaders and into our Christian colleges. Pray that the fire of God will spread across our Country. Pray for people to turn back to the Lord. Pray that the false gods and demonic lies our culture will be revealed and cast down. Pray that God is proven to be the only One who can fill our lives with blessings.

🔹 Lunch Meditation: Repentance

📖 Bible Meditation: 🔗 Ephesians 1:1-2; Revelation 2:4-5; Acts 19:11-20

Read through the passages above. If we are going to see God move in revival, we, the Church, need to repent. What did Jesus find at fault within the Church of Ephesus? They were once called “the faithful in Christ Jesus”, but they had forgotten their first love.  Jesus called them to “repent and do the works they did at first”. Examine what the Church was doing in Acts 19. Take time to think about what you have allowed to sneak into your own spiritual life. What useless endeavors might you be seeking? Is what you are pursuing right now draining you or filling you?  What “junk” in your life do you need to get rid of?

Seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance in convicting you of the sinful practices you are engaging in. Repent. Ask for God’s forgiveness and for a renewed sense of purpose. Pray for the strength to flee from sin and to fully follow God’s Word. Pray that your eyes and ears would be turned from the spirit of the age. Pray that your hearts would long to do God’s will and that Christ Jesus would be the center of your life.

Pray for the Church. Pray that they would return to their first love. Pray that they would boldly preach the Word of God and lead God’s people in the Truth and power of the Spirit.

🔹 Dinner Meditation: Purifying Fire

📖 Bible Meditation: 🔗 Matthew 3:11, Acts 2; Acts 3:19-21

Read through the passages above. If we are going to see revival, we need God to purify our hearts. Notice Peter’s words in Acts 3:20: “that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord”.  After we pray and repent, we are purified by the Holy Spirit. Fire always precedes the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Ask the Lord to awaken us with a fresh filling of His Spirit. Pray for any sin in your life to be burned away and that you may be filled with new life, holiness, righteousness, and wisdom. Pray over your families and children that they would seek nothing but the Lord as their source of hope.

Pray for the works of the devil in this world to be turned to ash. Pray for the Fire of God to fall once again on His Church. Pray for many Elijahs to arise with the Word of Gospel on their lips. Pray for a great harvest of souls and for Churches to be overflowing. Pray for the Spirit to move during services, life groups, and gatherings. Pray for our Nation to be restored.

🔹 Have breakfast Tuesday morning and join us any time after 6pm for First Tuesday prayer with Worship at 7p.m.; Word at 7:30p.m. We will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper as well.
