“Denying Self”

Breaking the Idol of Self…

IT’S OKAY TO TAKE A SELFIE ONCE IN A WHILE, BUT IT’S NOT OKAY TO LIVE IN A SELFIE MODE ALL THE TIME.

Definition of “selfie”: an image of oneself taken by oneself using a digital camera especially for posting about oneself on social networks.

📖 2 Timothy 3:1-2 (NIV) But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents,
ungrateful, unholy.

THERE IS NO CHRISTIANITY WITHOUT THE CROSS.

📖 John 12:23-26 (NLT) Jesus replied, “Now the time has come for the Son of Man to enter into his glory. 24 I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives. 25 Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity.

📖 Matthew 16:24-26 (ESV) “Then Jesus told his disciples, ‘If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?’”

📖 Galatians 2:20 (NIV) I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

📖 Micah 6:8 (NIV) He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you?To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

1. Justly (Do It God’s Way)

2. Mercy (Forgive Others)

3. Humbly (Don’t Look for Praise)
