Part 1 | Are You Fruitful?

From Mark 4

📖 Proverbs 23:5 NLT In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle.

People get when the preacher talks about .

📖 Luke 16:13 ESV “No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

Money makes only God can .

“If a person gets his attitude toward money straight, it will help straighten out almost every other area in his life.” — Billy Graham

📖 Mark 4:1-2 ESV Again He began to teach beside the sea. And a very large crowd gathered about Him, so that He got into a boat and sat in it on the sea, and the whole crowd was beside the sea on the land. 2 And He was teaching them many things in parables, and in his teaching he said to them…

Parables:

1. Kingdom Principles.

📖 Mark 4:2, 11 ESV He was teaching them many things in parables… 11 the secret of the kingdom of God.

2. True Believers.

📖 Mark 4:9 ESV He said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

3. Self-Reflection.

📖 Mark 4:13 ESV And he said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?”

📖 Matthew 13:10-11 ESV Then the disciples came and said to him, “Why do you speak to them in parables?” 11 And he answered them, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.”

Do I really want to what Jesus ?

Four kinds of response to God’s Word (the Seed):

1. The Path – where the steals the . (The ).

📖 Mark 4:4 ESV And as he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.

📖 Mark 4:15 ESV And these are the ones along the path, where the word is sown: when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that is sown in them.

2. The Rocks – where faith away. (The ).

📖 Mark 4:5–6 ESV Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and immediately it sprang up, since it had no depth of soil. 6 And when the sun rose, it was scorched, and since it had no root, it withered away.

📖 Mark 4:16–17 ESV And these are the ones sown on rocky ground: the ones who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy. 17 And they have no root in themselves, but endure for a while; then, when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately they fall away.

“He who marries the spirit of the age will be a widower in the next.” —  William Inge

3. The Thorns – where faith lives. (The ).

📖 Mark 4:7 ESV Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain.

📖 Mark 4:18–19 ESV And others are the ones sown among thorns. They are those who hear the word, 19 but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.

4. Good Soil – where manifests.

📖 Mark 4:8 ESV “And other seeds fell into good soil and produced grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.”

📖 Mark 4:20 ESV “But those that were sown on the good soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.”

Fruitfulness happens when you someone else’s , someone else’s , and someone else’s .
