From Joshua 1
The Choice: in life or this world.
1. Leadership by you’re God.
📖 Joshua 1:1-2 ESV After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel.
📖 1 Corinthians 3:5 ESV What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each.
📖 Matthew 20:26-28 ESV whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many
2. Leadership out of with God.
📖 Joshua 1:2b-3 ESV Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses.
📖 Exodus 33:7, 9 ESV Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting… 9 When Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the entrance of the tent, and the LORD would speak with Moses.
📖 Exodus 33:11 ESV Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses turned again into the camp, his assistant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent.
📖 Daniel 11:31-32 ESV Forces from him shall appear and profane the temple and fortress, and shall take away the regular burnt offering. And they shall set up the abomination that makes desolate. 32 He shall seduce with flattery those who violate the covenant, but the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action.
3. Leadership from from God’s Word.
📖 Joshua 1:6 ESV Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them.
How do I develop ?
A. God’s Word.
📖 Joshua 1:7a ESV Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you.
B. God’s Word.
📖 Joshua 1:7b ESV Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.
C. God’s Word.
📖 Joshua 1:8 ESV This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth,
📖 Hebrews 4:12 ESV For the word of God is living and active
📖 Romans 10:17 ESV faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
D. God’s Word.
📖 Joshua 1:8b ESV but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
