God’s candidate for incredible wisdom: .

1. Solomon the Lord .

📖 Deuteronomy 17:17 (ESV) And he shall not acquire many wives for himself, lest his heart turn away, nor shall he acquire for himself excessive silver and gold.

2. Solomon the Lord

📖 1 Kings 3:3 (ESV) Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father, only he sacrificed and made offerings at the high places.

📖 Deuteronomy 7:5 (ESV) But thus shall you deal with them: you shall break down their altars and dash in pieces their pillars and chop down their Asherim and burn their carved images with fire.

3. Solomon the Lord .

📖 1 Kings 3:5 (ESV) At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said, “Ask what I shall give you.”

FACT: If I had my life all together, I wouldn’t need wisdom.

Finding wisdom happens:

1. When I confess God’s in

📖 1 Kings 3:6-7 (ESV) And Solomon said, “You have shown great and steadfast love to your servant David my father, because he walked before you in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart toward you. And you have kept for him this great and steadfast love and have given him a son to sit on his throne this day. 7 And now, O LORD my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father

📖 1 Kings 3:7b (ESV) I am but a little child. I do not know how to go out or come in.

📖 1 Corinthians 3:18-19 (NLT) Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world’s standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, “He traps the wise in the snare of their own cleverness.”

📖 1 Kings 3:8-9 (ESV) And your servant is in the midst of your people whom you have chosen, a great people, too many to be numbered or counted for multitude. 9 Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?”

4. When I enter God’s through .

📖 1 Kings 3:15 (ESV) And Solomon awoke, and behold, it was a dream. Then he came to Jerusalem and stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and offered up burnt offerings and peace offerings, and made a feast for all his servants.

📖 1 Corinthians 1:20-24 (ESV) Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. 22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
