Part 8 | What is Your Legacy?

From 2 Timothy 1:3-9

1. Your Legacy Should Be .

📖 Timothy 1:3-9 (ESV) I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. 4 As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy. 5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. 6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, 9 who saved us and called us to[a] a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began

Timothy followed his generational legacy for the glory of God.

2. Our Vision for Legacy Should Be .

📖 Isaiah 6:9-10 (ESV) All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Jesus left a 2,000 year, and counting, legacy!

3. Our Legacy Should Be Legacy.

📖 John 6:38 (ESV) For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

📖 Luke 22:42 (ESV) Saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

Legacy cannot come from complacency.

📖 Ephesians 3:20 (ESV) Now to Him who is able to do far more than all that we ask or think according to the power at work within us. To him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever amen.

The “Big Ask”!

📖 2 Timothy 2:14-15 (ESV) Remind them of these things, and charge them before God[a] not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

Ask God and receive big!

will provide what you need, just need faith to step out and fulfill legacy.
