“The Great Reset | The Baptism of Jesus”

From Matthew 3:13-17

📖 Matthew 3:13-17 (ESV) Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. 14 John would have prevented Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?” 15 But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented. 16 And when Jesus was baptized, immediately He went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on Him; 17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

Jesus’s Baptism reflects how WE should walk as HIS followers:

1. A. Jesus Himself to be Baptized, partly as an example of how we should walk in as His .

📖 Philippians 2:8 (ESV) And being found in human form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

God gives favor to the humble.

📖 Proverbs 3:34 (NLT) The Lord mocks the mockers, but is gracious to the humble.

📖 Proverbs 22:4 (NLT) True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life.

📖 Proverbs 11:2 (NLT) Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

1. B. Jesus Himself and walking with Christ should us.

2. B. Jesus’ Baptism was to show people who He was and should follow !

📖 1 Peter 2:9 (NLT) But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.

📖 John 1:12 (NLT) But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, he gave the right to become children of God.

3. Jesus showed His to start His journey to the Cross as we should be fully to Him.

📖 Matthew 16:24 (ESV) Then Jesus told His disciples, “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.

📖 Mark 8:34 (ESV) If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.

📖 Luke 9:23 (ESV) And He said to all, “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.

📖 John 12:26 (NLT) “Anyone who wants to serve Me must follow Me, because My servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves Me.”
