📖 Hebrews 11:8 ESV By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out… not knowing where he was going.
📖 Romans 8:30a ESV And those whom he predestined, he also called…
📖 Isaiah 43:1b ESV I have called you by name, you are mine.
2. : Responding in Faith.
📖 Genesis 12:4 ESV So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.
📖 Hebrews 11:6 ESV And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
“Faith” in Greek is pistis = a confident trust in divine truth.
“Obedience” in Greek is hupakoe = to listen under, to submit by hearing.
Therefore, “biblical obedience” isn’t forced compliance. It’s the result of hearing God and trusting him enough to follow.
📖 Romans 10:17 ESV So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
📖 Acts 7:2-4ESV Brothers and fathers, hear me. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran, 3 and said to him, ‘Go out from your land and from your kindred and go into the land that I will show you.’ 4 Then he went out from the land of the Chaldeans and lived in Haran. And after his father died, God removed him from there into this land in which you are now living.
We see that God’s are more important than faith.
