From James 5:12-20
1. The Church is a Place of – We Speak .
📖 James 5:12 (ESV) But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.
2. The Church is a Place of – We Pray .
📖 James 5:13 (ESV) Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray.
📖 James 5:14 (ESV) Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
📖 James 5:16 (ESV) The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
📖 James 5:17-18 (ESV) Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. 18 Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.
3. The Church is a Place of – We Sing .
📖 James 5:13 (ESV) Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.
📖 Exodus 15:21 (ESV) Sing to the LORD, for He has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider He has thrown into the sea.
📖 Colossians 3:16 (ESV) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

5. The Church is a Place of – We find .
📖 James 5:15 (ESV) And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

📖 1 Peter 2:5 (ESV) you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6. The Church is a Place of – We People.
📖 James 5:19-20 (ESV) My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, 20 let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
📖 Galatians 6:1 (ESV) Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
Sermon in a sentence:
The church is God’s to us—a place where we find , experience His , discover , and rescue – changing the world, one soul at a time.
